Action Team Discussion
Here is a wonderful suggestion from Allie. BLOGGING! This hopefully will be a convenient way for us all to stay in touch over the next few weeks as we think about our action plans. Whenever you have a bright idea, just blog about it! I think this might be an excellent way for us to keep the conversation going without formal emails or quick meetings :-) What do you think?

Awesome! This is going to be great! I think that this is the best forum for keeping track of all our discussions and ideas! Thanks for listening Joli!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo - I actually got on here and posted something...Fergie - if I can do it...you can too!
ReplyDeleteSO much great information was presented yesterday! Thanks to all of you for all your hard work :0)!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have been doing some research in tech tools that we already have on campus that we can further implement into our curriculum and I found some stuff that I did not know we had a subscription to. Perhaps, I am not the only one.
ReplyDeleteHere are the websites:

Also, I have been trying to use the technology that we already have more often and although I am not proficient at making Smart Notebook lessons, I figured out how to make a Smart Notebook Science Journal.
We have been journaling about plants and I created my journal on the Smart Board. I included pictures of our plants and observations on a daily basis. I used the Smart Board camera to take a picture of the plants and created a text box on the picture to include our observations. The kids love following along and writing their observations on their journal.
To answer Erika's question, "How can we further implement the technology we already have into our curriculum?", we can use some of the resources we already have. This would not take any extra money and could be implemented immediately. These are just some of the resources we already have:

The document named Google For Teachers has some good resources that can be implemented without additional time or cost. See e-mail from Phyllis named Google.
Now we can also focus on how to further implement Smart Board lessons into our lesson plans, however we would need further training.
Over a period of 3 years, the district could provide PD hours to train us how to create lessons on the Smart Board. Cost unknown. These PD hours could be offered during summer Extravaganza and during the year.
